We are sisters that grew up in different decades with completely different personal styles, but we both enjoy finding a bargain and having fun with fashion. We don’t spend lots of time and money on clothing, but we like to work with what we have, be creative, and share style ideas and tips.

Phoenix Comicon 2014

Big Sis: Last weekend we embarked upon an annual journey; a journey into the depths of superb geekiness that is Phoenix Comicon. This year was just as marvelous as in years past, and in some ways, even more so. For three whole days we were fully immersed in fandom (the best kind) and we wanted to share some images from our journey into the con. On top of enjoying the uber-creative cosplay, we met author Patrick Rothfuss (and had him sign a copy of “The Name of the Wind” while I suffered from fandom-induced butterflies), went to some enjoyable panels, won a Doctor Who fashion show, danced our pants off at a Minecraft party, and met some fantastic people.

This year, we decided that the whole family would cosplay Doctor Who characters (since the Doctor and his companions frequently grace our boob tube). The husband went as Cyber Freddie Mercury (no, Freddie didn't die, he was just upgraded), I went as his mortal enemy, a dalek, and the kids were the T.A.R.D.I.S, the 11th Doctor, and the 14th Doctor (basically a future Doctor.) Little Sis was Clara (from Doctor Who) and Nacho from Nacho Libre the next day. Our other siblings were Brutus from the cult classic “Gentlemen Broncos” and a powerful lady Jedi. Fun was had by all.
