We are sisters that grew up in different decades with completely different personal styles, but we both enjoy finding a bargain and having fun with fashion. We don’t spend lots of time and money on clothing, but we like to work with what we have, be creative, and share style ideas and tips.

Icon Inspiration
Little Sis: With the arrival of Thanksgiving, it is finally getting chilly here in Arizona. Even when temperatures drop, we don't often need more than a light sweater or cardigan. My outfit is inspired by one of my favorite singers, Sara Bareilles, who I recently got to see live in concert. It was fun to accessorize with a fedora, which is one of her trademark looks and may just end up being one of mine too.

Winter by the Beach
Here in Arizona (or at least central Arizona) we don't often need heavy jackets, scarves, long sleeves, and boots. Heck, we pretty much wear flip-flops and t-shirts all year long. So, this is what a winter outfit looks like to me; a light top, a cozy sweater, jeans, and flats. I know that in Southern California (one of my favorite places to be) winter weather is fairly mild, so the set colors were inspired by sandy beaches, water, and sky. Wouldn't this be a nice outfit to wear while strolling a boardwalk in December? :)

Coral and Purple
Big Sis: I was inspired to create this purple and coral set after seeing how lovely the combo looks on this pillow. It's not a color pairing that I see very often, but don't the plum and light coral look pretty together?

Dreamy Delia's
Big Sis: I just got the new Delia's fall catalog, and I have to say that it was extremely fun to flip through. I've been browsing Delia's catalogs since way back in my college days, and though some of the styles aren't exactly age appropriate for me nowadays, there's just so much cute stuff to look at! Here are some of my favorite looks from said catalog.
There are so many cute flats here, that it's tough to pick a favorite, but I'm thinking that the sparkly pink flats might be my winner. Which pairs do you love?
A cozy, fluffy animal-faced sweater over a tank and paired with a soft pleated skirt? Yes please.
More layering, but this time it's a fun sweat shirt over a lace dress, worn with coordinating flats.
Delia's always offers a great selection of Converse. I'm digging the orange pair.
These remind me of boots that my friends and I wore in the 90's. We paired them with baby doll dresses and, well, just about everything else.
These stitch front sweaters look sooo cozy and perfect for layering.
Aren't these riding boots swanky? I'm digging the gray suede pair.
Love this simple, but fun combination of skinny jeans, a white sweater, orange Converse, and cheerful belt and jewelry.

Fall Anticipation
Big Sis: Okay, so it's still in the high 90's here in Arizona, but that doesn't stop me from dreaming of glorious scarfs, jackets, sweaters, and boots. Here are two fall outfits that I put together to in anticipation of the thermometer dipping below the 70's. Though I can only wear them in my air conditioned home for now, it's fun to dream.
I paired this short ruffled tank dress with leggings and chunky black boots (Target). The aqua tee and necklace adds a much needed pop of color.
What do you look forward to wearing when temperatures dip?
Wide leg jeans, a colorful tee, a coordinating chevron scarf (only $7 at Ross), and flip flops (here in AZ we wear flip flops all year long.) This late summer/ fall fusion is as easy as they come.

Playful Plum
Big Sis: One of my favorite colors for fall is plum. I've seen some cute sweaters, dresses, and tops featuring this gorgeous deep purple. I created this casual, comfortable plum and gray outfit with a crisp autumn weekend in mind. My favorite part of the outfit? The cozy H & M sweatshirt for only $15!

Think Pink (and Orange)
Big Sis: I've seen a lot of pink and orange together lately, and I love it! One of my favorite shirts in high school (a very long time ago) was a striped pink and orange v-neck, and I'm glad to see the vibrant combination is back in style. I created this outfit with my favorite shades of pink and orange, and included two of my favorite mixed patterns, stripes and floral.
Stripes and floral by fun-to-wear featuring ballet flat shoes
Here are some fun, vibrant pink and orange combos I found while browsing around:
Heidi Klum rocks a satiny magenta shirt with hot orange pants.
I like the second from the left best, but they all have potential.
Wouldn't this flirty dress look cute with a cropped denim jacket and magenta flats?
Love these flats. Combine them with jeans and an orange blouse? They're so bright and fun, even a neutral blouse would work.
The tangerine cardigan looks great over a soft coral button-up.
Here are Pantone's 2013 fall fashion inspiration colors for more fun color combo ideas. I'm thinking that Koi and Mykonos Blue would look pretty great together too. Which are your favorites?

Navy and Aqua
Casual Aqua and Navy by fun-to-wear featuring chunky jewelry
Below are some of my favorite navy and aqua outfits, items, and interior design ideas.
Love these navy wed leg jeans and the way that her dark green bag pulls the outfit together.
The aqua couch with the navy pillows are fantastic. The room pulls off a both modern and retro look.
This is maybe the 6th photo of Zooey Deschanel I've posted on my blog. I can't help it. She's got style.
I love ALL of these pillows and wish that they were sitting on my couch right now.
This cute casual bag is just one of the many adorable bags in the Blucalla Etsy shop.
This understated chevron aqua, navy, and gray phone case would make a great accessory.
Wouldn't this throw pillow from FestiveHomeDecor on Etsy be a pretty addition to the pile of pillows above?

A Fancier Me
If I wasn't a middle class mother of young children who lives in a small farming city, surrounded by slow-paced living and cotton fields, I would probably sometimes dress like this. Even when I'm in commercials I don't dress like this. Sometimes I'll end up in a business blazer and comfortable heels, but most of the time I'm dressed like a Tide commercial mom (a one colored fitted top with jeans, khakis, and flats.) When not in commercials, I most often wear t-shirts or simple peasant tops, jeans, and flip flops. But, if I dined at fancy restaurants, wasn't worried about stains from little hands, and went someplace other than movie theaters and Chipotle on dates, I'd dress like this on occasion. How would you dress if you could?

Lace and Ruffles
A while back I created a post about the cute and versatile ruffled tank. Well, I recently bought an affordable lacy white ruffled tank (only 3.99 at Factory-2-U) and discovered that it works with so many different looks and outfits. It's now pretty much my favorite item of clothing. Here are three looks that I put together. I hope that they give you some fun ideas of your own!
This is the most casual of all three looks. I layered the tank over a simple fitted aqua tee and added a light pink broach and pearls. After all, what goes better with ruffles and lace than pearls?

This next look is what I would wear for a night out. I threw a cropped black jacket over the tank and wore them with skinny jeans and black heels. I also added some black and silver jewelry.
For this last look, I channeled my inner business woman and layered a cropped gray blazer over the tank and added gray slacks and heels.
Just in case you don't live near a Factory-2-U, here are some cute layered tanks available online ($12.99 from ToAdorn (which has LOTS of cute clothes, by the way.)
